Tom & Tammie's Journey

To arms friends and family and anyone else who will send me good thoughts. The fight has begun. As of 3/20/06 I have officially become a Cancer Survivor. On 3/20/06 at approximately 9:00 AM, I was diagnosed with a stage II invasive ductile cancer. It is 3cm in size about the size of a half dollar but in the shape of a glob. I feel perfectly healthy with no other symptoms other than a lump in my boob. I will not circum to the absurdity of being a statistic and die from cancer, I can assure all of you of that. It will really piss me off if this gets the best of me. All of our friends and family members want to help but feel so helpless. They are asking what they can do and I tell them all the same. Send me good thoughts and prayers only. I don't need bad energy in the universe only good and go get a mammogram.

Many of you reading this have not yet gotten your first mammogram. I plead with you in support of Tom, me, and my boob. GET SCHEDULED TODAY. It doesn't hurt as much as a having to go through chemo or getting your boob cut off so stop being little scared girls and safeguard your life for your family and friends.

This is my journey and now my purpose in life. I will not only survive but I will make a difference in someone else’s life. If I can possibly save one woman’s life by getting her to have a pre-screening for cancer than this journey will be worth it.

What's next?
We begin with a lymph node biopsy to make sure it has not spread, which I know in my heart it has not. Then off to Chemo for 8 weeks (1x every 2 weeks) to attempt to shrink the tumor so when they do my lumpectomy it will not look like a tiger bit a chunk out of my left boob. You say what else does Tammie win, Bob? Well if I am lucky I will only loose my hair, eye lashes, and eyebrows for about 12 weeks.

I will repeat my request... ONLY GOOD THOUGHTS AND HAPPY PRAYERS PLEASE!!!
We will keep you posted on our progress.
